Not everybody wants a Tesla. Even Musk has said that it's unrealistic to aim for a 100% market share.

In a 2021 earnings call, Elon Musk said that Tesla does not aim for 100% market share in the electric vehicle (EV) market. Here is the quotes from Musk's earnings call:

"We don't want to have 100% market share. We want to have a significant market share, but we also want to see other people make great electric cars. We want to see a massive market for electric cars."

"If we had 100% market share, that would mean the market was pretty small. We want to see a massive market for electric cars, so that more people can switch to electric cars and help reduce carbon emissions."

"Our goal is to be around 20% market share. We think that's a healthy market share for Tesla, and it will also help to encourage other companies to make EVs."
