You absolutely can run up your credit card balances until you run out of credit, and/or you can't pay your minimums, then just stop paying the cards entirely. The credit card companies will hound you for payment, you'll ruin your credit score for a minimum of 7 year, or you can try to "discharge" the debt you owe through Bankruptcy. People do this litteraly all the time.
