Place to post and discuss THRASH METAL!

RULES (MUST READ):

Please keep things relevant to thrash (death thrash, blackened thrash, crossover, speed metal etc. are permitted).
Please search before posting a song, do not post the same song over and over.
Friendly debate is encouraged.
When posting a song use the format of "Band - Song [FFO: band1, band2]". This just helps keep things uniform. The "FFO" (For Fans Of) section is optional. It is for lesser known bands. (Stole this idea from the Death Metal community).
No racist, sexist, blah blah blah... you get the idea. This is not the place to discuss sensitive matters, after all metal should unite!
No NSFW content (apart from songs/album covers. If they do include NSFW content, please mark the posts as such).
Post in English only (obviously you can post songs in different languages).
But most of all have fun XD.

You did get a YouTube link to show a thumbnail again... Could you maybe post a screenshot of the layout of your post? I'm so curious as to why you're the only one to get that working on this sub! :D

Here you go:

That's how the "Create Post" UI looks for me using the normal web lemmy-ui. In the field Thumbnail URL I pasted the direct image link of the cover art on the RYM page of the album. (You can of course also use some other source for the image link, like uploading the cover art to an image host of your choice.)

Ah, right!
I post everything on mobile, and there's no Thumbnail URL-field in there. That explains it, most likely. Thanks for clearing that up! :)

Coming back to you because I found additional information that might interest you:

The issue that the metadata fetching fails on YouTube was fixed after the release of v0.19.8 (latest), so we have to wait for the next release of lemmy.
