5/5 Oppenheimer
Despite watching it at a cinema with blurry PQ and a busted center channel that made following dialogue a chore.
Please make recommendations for the theater with the most pinsharp picture and clear audio. I would gladly trade the ATMOS shebang for both of those.
It doesn't have to be IMAX. Wala naman masyado scenes na visual feast. It's largely dialogue-driven.
Man, in the past few days and weeks, Filipino film nerds in twitter and reddit swore up and down that IMAX is the only way to watch the movie despite knowing that weβre getting the cropped version.
Having just finished watching it, I pretty much agree with your insights. Clear audio is a definitely a must as I definitely missed some lines.
I'm seriously considering going to Vista Mall for the IMAX (and expensive tickets) if it means getting the sharpest picture quality and clear audio, although I'm open to suggestions. I just feel ripped off spending P500 earlier. After Barbenheimer, I don't think I'd be watching in the cinemas soon anyway. The better movies are in 2024 (Furiosa, the Gladiator sequel, Deadpool 3).
IMAX Evia was also one of my options, but apparently there are noticeable black spots in the screen, and the hefty price tag (apparently 1k for a ticket) are what threw me off.
How about Barbie?
Plan on watching it sa Friday pa. But I know na to avoid Vertis North. Their cinemas suck.
;_;
so i guess going standard gonna be fine. someone on twitter made a good point about the film not being Interstellar
If Interstellar was known to push substandard subwoofers to the breaking point, I'd say the first minute of Oppenheimer alone is enough to plausibly destroy it. Sound design is definitely the film's strong point, not much the visuals which are few and nothing special.
That's why I would want to watch it again on a cinema that could show everything clear and sharp. Parang nanood lang ako sa Skyworth na LCD with blacks showing up like grays and faces looking like it was upscaled from 480p. It really soured the viewing experience.
ohnooo that's too bad huhu
they should probably make this a theme park thing someday HAHA
