The Times of Israel reported that Netanyahu felt pressured into the ceasefire deal because of uncertainty about how the next administration would handle the conflict, and that the new Middle East envoy accomplished more in one sit-down meeting with him than the Biden administration did in a year. Take that with a grain of salt, since it is ~~TTOA~~ TTOI, but, maybe?

Still taking that grain of salt, but it would explain why Netanyahu suddenly gave up his land grab project when strategically speaking Israel had nothing to lose by continuing the war.
