Recent leaks have revealed that Nintendo originally planned to continue the Virtual Console model for the Nintendo Switch before ultimately canceling it due to high costs associated with emulator testing and other challenges.

And yet they did it anyway, but called it something else and are charging an expensive subscription for it.

Expensive is a hard word for something that gets you a whole year compared to the price of two month everywhere else.
