The problem is discord though, and the discord account requirement to even browse. I'm sure there's things I'd like to read and reflect on in that discord server, but I'm not making a discord account. Any of the other ones I'd still be able to read and lurk without that buy in.

Plus, if you join any large server you tend to be inundated with constant notifications from various channels. Imagine joining a large subreddit like r/memes and getting a notification every time someone makes a post or comment
