A community for the drama, big and small, in hobby groups.
RULES
- BE KIND. No bigotry, flaming, trolling, etc. Do not brigade (remember we are outside observers)!
- NO DOXXING. Do not post addresses, real names, etc of individuals. Exceptions are made for public figures (eg celebrities) and companies, but keep it relevant.
- 14 DAY RULE. When making a post drama should be concluded for at least 14 days to make sure it's fully concluded and give a complete scope to posts. The exception to this is the weekly Hobby Round Up megathread which this rule does not apply to.
- INCLUDE CONSEQUENCES. When posting include what the drama means for the community. "The state of the game is worse off and players are leaving" is better than "and everyone was mad the end".
- KEEP OUT BIAS. If you are one of the main participants in the drama don't post, this isn't a community for validation seeking. If you're a peripheral (eg you're in the hobby and have an opinion, but aren't the one the drama is about, leading a petition drive, etc) posting is fine. Strive to be objective in your write-up.
- NSFW. If a hobby or drama is NSFW mark the post as such.
- REPOSTS. Reposts should be clearly marked with [REPOST] in the title and a link to the original post at the top or bottom of the post. Posts that don't follow this rule will be warned and then removed if the requested changes aren't made.
- TITLE GUIDELINES. Titles should include the following tags as appropriate:
- [REPOST] for reposts
- [HISTORY] for drama that does not include hobbyists (eg industry drama such as the financial fallout of a game company's decisions)
- [GENERAL HOBBY] music, apparel, video games, TV shows, knitting, social media group, etc
- [SPECIFIC HOBBY] is an optional tag if you'd like to be more specific (eg Taylor Swift, Game of Thrones, Gucci, World of Warcraft, etc)
An example title would be: [Video Games][Old School Runescape] The hat scandal OR [Repost][History][Music] Fyre Festival controversies

Regarding reposts, in my opinion if your going copy an entire post and link back to the reddit post and user, no permission should be required. It's really not much different than Google or any other website that might aggregate their content. If your going to summarize or change their post in anyway, then permission should definitely be required.
Waiting period definitely needs to remain, 14 days is a blink of an eye and the entire story could be reframed in that time.
Edit: I also would like to see any repost be forced to be submitted with something like Repost or [RP] in the title. I think it's important before anyone gets to far that they are aware of that. Will also make it a better experience for anyone who still browses r/Hobbydrama.
Both fair takes and I like the idea of having reposts marked. Like Kadu said in another comment, when filtering becomes available assumably this will be a good way for people who use both communities to filter out what they've already seen. Thank you for the input!
