Yeah, this is what people say instead of being empathetic.
It's not incorrect, it's just an inconsiderate thing to say; like telling a person "getting upset doesn't help" when their house is on fire.
Either help, support, or leave them alone, otherwise you're actively choosing to be an asshole and literally nothing more.
No, this the phrase I tell myself when I'm having a hard time and was hoping others would take comfort in it.
Obviously though ive exposed myself as someone incapable of feeling for others though.
I didn't consider you might use it to help yourself, hello hypocrisy on my part.
