I think the caliphates are more interesting than the coins, tbh. I have some abbasid dirhems, but when you don't read Arabic then are a little underwhelming.
Don't worry, I speak Arabic natively and even I can't read most of it except the "la ilaha ila allah" in the back, you're not missing out on much.
I have a dirhem struck under Harun ar-Rashid and with a quote by or the mention of Ja'far, which I think is pretty cool. He was the vizier who set up a paper mill in Baghdad with Chinese workers, so he had a large role in the spread of and preservation of knowledge which happened during the early Caliphates.
