I’m probably an outlier as someone that has had a hunting license and butchered my own kills. I am rather appalled when I see how animals are treated in industrial meat facilities. I think back to the times when I was very conscientious of when and how I took a shot. It absolutely gave me a deep sense of empathy, and solemn responsibility, along with an appreciation for life. It will probably bother some to say, but I think hunting and dressing an animal should be required for anyone to eat meat. I did it to subsidize my poor diet too, in a sanctioned culling due to overpopulation, and have never hunted recreationally. After that experience, I think back to it every time I handle raw meat. There is a certain sacredness to it or something like that; it has meaning.

I honestly fully get this and think it is way more responsible ethically than any other omnivore diet!

Hope I or something else give you some ideas there :)
