Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.

This is why I'm not too worried about AGI.
there's a ton of research showing we should be worried about AGI:

"research"

He's a YouTube researcher that's been working on his PhD for 12 years and has no practical field experience based on his LinkedIn.
A large part of his schtick is conjecture and opinion at best.
I'm not saying that they're aren't reasons to take AI safety seriously, But this guy is more or less entertainment.
I hate it when people say there's research and then point at a youtube video.
To be fair, he is calling himself as a researcher, I was ready to take him at face value until I watched a few minutes of his remastered intro to security video.
He provides a fair amount of reasonable industry standard knowledge, then goes kind of off the rails on some graphs, Make some fairly wild assumptions. Not the kind of thing you find with real researchers mostly. Science has fuel today number of wacko researchers over the years that are legitimately doing research poorly.
I tend to not acknowledge such videos at all. If an actual research has been done, there has to be a better source than a video about it. Of course, someone linking a video doesn't mean they're wrong, but I won't consider it a point in their favour either.
So did the Simpsons but we don't go around hailing it as some kind of Oracle
Well, maybe you don't.
He's made a great number of predictions, or rather he stated a lot of things on YouTube. There wasn't anything novel in first couple of videos I've watched that I think he came up with out of the blue. He's just jumping on the same bandwagon everybody else is.
Then he posts meaningless graphs like this.
Maybe if I sat down and watched all of his stuff to current I'd have a different view but after a couple of videos that's about all I can stomach of him.
Is anyone keeping up with the incorrect predictions?
He had to remaster his intro to AI security to clear up the early misconceptions.
