I had a neat thought, which probably has a 0% chance of coming true; but what if apple ties functionality of the new “action button” to shortcuts and really opens up ios functionality and customizability to users of the pro phones.

this would further differentiate the two phone types to users, especially with the island coming to the regular line as well this year, apparently. (and we all know apple would love to play up the change from a switch to button and attempt to upsell the shit out of it).

and perhaps updates to shortcuts and the additional ram will make launching actions a bit snappier.

anyway just daydreaming my lemonheads 8)

also this would prob encourage further adoption of the shortcuts app for users and developers. apple could kind of “force them” to use it and further explore how powerful of an app it is.

i know from my own personal experience i dont use the app at all even though ive seen examples of how useful it can be, because it still feels like an overall clunky experience to use and to fully understand.

i consider myself decently tech literate (i made it on here at the very least lol) and have yet to feel the urge to put aside the time to really dig into that app.

theres no way the average iphone user or id wager even the average pro user even knows what the shortcuts app does, let alone uses it effectively.
