I'm not sure if it's a (data saving) feature or a bug, but I've been noticing that images in my post feed are substantially lower in quality compared to images in the actual post view.
Thank you for reporting this. This issue is not a bug. The images loaded in the post list are the "previews" from the post which are usually lower quality. This is done for mostly performance as Lemmy servers tend to serve the preview images way faster than the "originals". When you open a post, it loads the original image which is higher quality but may take a lot longer to load. Not really sure there is a good solution here other than maybe an option to toggle to load originals in the post feed instead of previews however I anticipate that the performance would suffer greatly.

Re: possible performance issues, it's a possibility of course, but I haven't noticed strange behaviour from Voyager, an app that does display the original quality image in the feed view.
