It will be refreshing to not have to endure another full back story and just get on with the show.

True. It made sense back in 80s to 2000s when the genre was new and movie audiences around the world were probably seeing these characters for the first time on the big screen.

Today, people have a substantial number of movies to check out if they want to know more about their superheroes of interest.

The only instance I can think of where an origin story is acceptable is when it ties into the main story in a substantial manner like it did in Man Of Steel (Jor El and Zod).

The last film I can think to do this was Spider-Man Homecoming, which made sense since two origin stories were still fresh in everyone's mind.

Jumping right in makes sense.

The Batman (2022) skipped the origin story as well, which was a welcome choice, given the film's already lengthy runtime.
