Disney’s film (already $90 million better than the 2016 original) dropped 48 percent.

This type of mistake smells of an AI generated article. The 2016 film was loosely based on the story from the hit Broadway musical of the same name. The 2024 film is an actual adaptation of the musical with two top tier singers on lead. Implying that they are related is like comparing a biopic about the life of Alexander Hamilton with Lin-Manuel Miranda's 'Hamilton'.
