Oh yes, 100% with you in that.
We can talk about this stuff without dragging in Russia. “We are not that different” is one of their propaganda pillars, let’s not do them any favours.
That only works if you think America is a good thing. When someone on the left says "America is a dictatorship of capital with theocratic characteristics, like Russia", they're not saying nice things about either Russia or America.
