President Joe Biden announced late Sunday that he is pardoning his son, Hunter Biden, who has faced federal prosecution for gun and tax-related charges. The move comes after multiple statements by the president along the campaign trail saying he would not do so if his son is convicted.

This is a really bad look for Biden and it gives conservatives so much ammo. But I think that they would complain and whine and support trumpinf doing worse pardons anyway so ultimately it doesn't change anything. Hunter bidens crimes are not that bad but this action reinforces that some people are above the law.
