It’s no doubt a bad hit. Lawrence is sliding. I want to believe that players aren’t out there trying to hurt other players.

I agree. I like Azeez Al-Shaair but that hit was bad.

The problem with this is that “fake slides” are a thing. Mahomes and Josh Allen are NOTORIOUS for it. So defenders are torn with giving up extra yards or a bad hit.

This was a bad hit.

QBs need to be aggressively penalized for fake slides and defenders will trust the slide more, hopefully stopping this kind of hit.

Al-Shaair was rightfully ejected, but the underlying issue still exists.
