This is the place for discussing the potential collapse of modern civilization and the environment.

Collapse, in this context, refers to the significant loss of an established level or complexity towards a much simpler state. It can occur differently within many areas, orderly or chaotically, and be willing or unwilling. It does not necessarily imply human extinction or a singular, global event. Although, the longer the duration, the more it resembles a ‘decline’ instead of collapse.

According to science we have passed a stage in global climate change, we have not passed THE stage. Unless my information is wrong. We can still turn things back towards good, we just may not be able to reverse the damage we will have already started.

Barring some new technology, of course. What we can do now is wholly dictated by our current understanding. I feel it is important to remember that this understanding may change.
