I don’t understand. How can you be so foolish to think these people refusing to work with AI in any official capacity and refuse to be unprotected are overblown? I’m not saying the tech is as smart or capable as the fear machine makes it out to be, but I have absolutely no trouble seeing these fuckin networks insist on cutting back on writing staff in favor of editors rewriting AI structures. It’s a really stupid move, but they absolutely will try it because capitalism.

The fact that they are unwilling to budge on that issue (and the fact that one executive was quoted as saying their negotiation tactics were basically “wait until they start losing their apartments”) speaks fuckin volumes. They don’t give a fuck about actual quality. The absolute most formulaic bullshit ends up being the most popular and profitable. Executives don’t even think in terms of quality or creativity. It’s literally cost and profit. The moment they are allowed to cull writers like sick cows, they’ll do it, happily reabsorbing the slaughtered writers’ newly freed salaries back into their coffers. Vampires.
