Yeah I think they got all the budget and relative freedom but told to do somehow exactly what season 1 was.

It really lost what made the music of season 1 interesting when they were there for emphasis on emotion of the characters and instead became a constant barage of boring music videos.

The game skin swapping and character progression is a bit much too. Often feels they are doing something because they want the story to go there instead of because it made sense.
I just want it to end with them all getting teleported to the battlefield with someone saying "so what are we? Some kinda league of legends?" And wipe.
