narrator: no democrats learned nothing at all from their failure to win back the house, keep the senate, or elect the vice president, falling across the board to fascist disaster which will most probably mean the end of the republic

i mean, maybe re-electing jeffries is sacrificial, in that democrats know they're not going to be able to pass any legislation in at least the next two years, more likely not until the revolution that overthrows the tyranny of MAGA, and jeffries is as good a placeholder as anyone
