Maybe my taste buds aren’t refined but I can’t tell the difference

There is practically no difference unless you fully defreeze it in a microwave which will usually make it feel soggy. However you can get it mostly defrosted in the microwave, and finish the job in an oven, and it will basically feel like fresh bread
