The Nazis "celebrated" the anniversary of Hitler's first failed coup 15 years later with the November pogroms.

Hitler was charged with treason after the coup, allowed to publically present his worldview at the trial, sentenced to 5 years in prison and released after 9 months, in exchange for a vow to retire to private life and stay out of politics.

These are the defendents at the trial. Notice they are allowed to carry their swords.

This is a photo from inside the "prison". Basically a sabbatical that gave Hitler street cred and time to write Mein Kampf

Moral of the story: When fascists try a coup, you should probably stop cuddling them.
