That's a rude assumption! It could have been heroine, meth, cocaine, fentanyl, or something else.

Maybe it was opiates and she counted her epidural as resetting her count

Could be, but it could also be an adoption or a nephew. The most likely explanation is that she was drinking/using during her pregnancy, but there are other alternatives...
