Fifth Halloween in Riverside, and the number of trick-or-treaters has slowly grown each year. Gave out over 80 full sized candy last night, and plenty of screams! (lemmy.world)

This year I tried something my dad used to do, and dressed up as a scarecrow with the bowl on my lap. With that and my husband dropping a spider from above, we put the scary back in Halloween! 😈

Or as one parent put it, "you make them work for that candy!" 🤣

Cool! it seems like a dying thing in our town. theyd rather do the trunk-or-treats instead of going door to door. hopefully the trend goes away!
