I'm sympathetic... I'm not sure I'd be willing to share a sh.itjust.works link to my company #general slack channel.
Though that is far from the biggest problem Lemmy has for adoption. Many communities are simply flooded with 15yr old tankies.
I wouldn't share a reddit link in that scenario either, but it's a decent point.
Usually I'll be sharing either screenshots or just straight ripping the meme to send directly. But I also don't generally communicate with work colleagues outside of work
Jeez. It's just a link to just a site. What is the problem with that url? If it's share-worthy, just share. If people don't click it because of "bUt iTs nOt a .CoM!" screw them, bad luck for them. People need to study and pay a lot to be allowed to drive a car, but any technically challenged dildo can use the interwebz without the slightest clue about anything, and is also allowed to voice an opinion about it.
Pretty sure they meant because of the word shit, not the TLD works.
Doesn't change my point. Even worse. How could anyone be hurt in their feelz by that harmless word? If that already hurts them, this world will be no fun place for them to exist
Uhh... My friend. They said it was a work chat. Regardless of your opinion if swearing I think you should understand that work places are generally more conservative with regards to swear words.
I dunno where you work, but that's a place i would not want to work if i had to work at all. Jeez, i would leave such a place in an instant...
When you grow up you'll realize that sometimes you need to consider the attitudes and feelings of others rather than just "fuck 'em".
If someone's feelings are hurt by a silly url, it's me that should grow up? We're not talking about trigger-urls like r*pe-is-fun.org or similar.
I have not met a single person since the beginning of the internet that would have his/her feelz hurt by sh.itjust.works.
Yes. It's you who should realize that other people's perspectives, thoughts, opinions, etc. matter. It's something one typically learns as they grow into adulthood.
sometimes their opinions are stupid. it's a word. peoplr use it to mean "stuff" - if youre gonna omgwtfbbq over vulgarity in this world, in this time, just go clutch your pearls somewhere else and leave the world for those of us who worry about crap worth worrying about
no, really. next youre gonna tell me my tattoos need to be covered at work, too! die off, old generation- nobody cares about that shit anymore. have an opinion worth a damn? ok! but i dont have time for gaspers and groaners worrying about thr most inane fucking nonsense
the world is fucking burning but, sure watch your language because peoples feels

Hey, I'm "old generation" and i don't care. We're not all facebook-loving whatsappers. It's people who don't know what real problems are that care about some silly words noone else cares about.
If you reach 30 you'll understand.
I'm 50 and don't understand. I voluntarily work with abused people. They got real problems, they don't care about trivialities in life like sh.itjust.works. If you reach 40 you'll maybe understand. Or maybe it's no matter of age but wisdom or horizon.
yay i dont come off as old, and cold, and settled in my ways
\o/
oh shit wait you just mean you think Im immature
:P
I'm probably older than your daddy, but... People's thoughts etc do matter. Sure. Never said they don't. And if someone is truly hurt by reading the word "shit", i can only really hope for them that they'll never run into real problems in this world.
"when you grow up" is what people say when their skin starts to grow over the mask they wear.
I got tired of half-assing being someone else. Frankly I'm too busy to bother.

You need clearer language? Only immature people worry about being "grown up", well-adjusted people just get on with it.
