A place to meme about the glorious ROMAN EMPIRE (and Roman Republic, and Roman Kingdom)! Byzantines tolerated! The HRE is not.

In my alternate history, Claudius makes his son Britanicus Emperor and retires to Alexandria.

Rich and bored, he spends time at the Library and starts puttering around with all sorts of silly toys.

He and his tech bros invent the glider, the hot air balloon, and the steam engine. They are all useful for the great games in the Coliseum
