Inb4 - Yes I know it's a me problem. I'm not the target demo. I've just been a fan of the franchise since I read The Sin War as a kid.

I'll play through a Diablo once. As a necromancer. Exclusively as a necromancer.

Everyone I know is a gatcha addict. All they care about is ever growing numbers. Bigger damage. Filling paragon boards. Torment levels.

I just wanna play through the story content. Once.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm kinda surprised that there hasn't already been a Skyrim mod that does exactly this.

Another weird thing to think about is the combat mechanics of games like Skyrim are pretty jank and broken, unlike hundreds of single player shooter games. The reason it's weird because I can't actually think of a first/third person RPG whose mechanics do function well in the last two decades.

All the well (better at least) made mechanics in RPGs were in Top Down Strategy games and Crawlers.

God of war sort of fills the requirements but it's more of a historical mythological fantasy than a traditional high fantasy.

Theres just a weird gap in the market.
