Fun fact: Before I convinced Scoredle's developer to change its bot's starting word to SLATE, it was using TARES and it solved this puzzle in 2/6.

I'll keep TARES in mind as my next starter word if ARISE is ever picked as an answer. I was using RAISE for a while until that was picked.

TARES isn't that great. Scoredle's bot assumes every playable word is a possible solution, so it tries starting words ending in S. I'd use STARE instead, or better yet, PARSE or SIREN. They're potential puzzle solutions that haven't been used yet.
