A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. Avoid politics
    1. NEW RULE as of 5 Nov 2024, trying it out
    2. Political posts often end up being circle jerks (not offering unique perspective) or enflaming (too much work for mods).
    3. Try c/politicaldiscussion, volunteer as a mod here, or start your own community.
  4. Posts must be original/unique

Let's say Sunday is NoPo day, for example. I think we'd all be in a better mood that day.

If your response to this shower thought is a four paragraph rage you are already lost. Why are you in showerthoughts?

No, this does not have anything to do with subscriptions or blocking communities.

If you're incapable of light jokes then no, you should not comment.

And finally, no, this is not a serious request post. I can't believe that needs to be explained for half the people here...

It's a type of person, not any one person. You won't really be able to avoid them completely here. They're the type of person who won't shut the fuck up about how the U.S. is actually an authoritarian state and glazes the fuck out of places like China/Soviet Russia.

I can never really tell, truth be told. I just write them off as either being brainwashed or a bad actor. Same treatment either way.
