Isn't it actually a precision driving technique to break with your left foot? Or isnthat just something I accidentally made up in my head?
You're probably thinking of rally race car drivers. They use both feet. But they've been heavily trained to do so. It just doesn't make sense to do it on public roadways.
There's a technique called "heel-toe" shifting which involves using different parts of the right foot to operate the brake and throttle at the same time, while the left foot works the clutch.
