Ooh I've played this total war map, it's fun in defense.
Archers on the walls, spearmen in front of the gate. Trebuchets inside the walls for counter-artillery fire. Cavalry positioned at the side gates ready for a flanking counterattack.
When the battle starts you should give a long drunken speech in front of your troops about how the enemy sucks and how we are awesome.
