BYU-PW now is preparing to offer some of the first three-year degrees in American higher education.

I'm not sure what you are implying. Are you implying that having a bachelor's degree will only get you a McJob?

Now I am all for being wise about the degree, and not getting it in basket-weaving or something, but having a degree is definitely an advantage when it comes to looking for jobs. As long as you can do it inexpensively with little or no debt.
