I want to take a crash course in Fediverse. I was browsing stuff on Mastadon and voila! I found these communities on Mastadon but I wasn't able to post anything, but I was however able to reply to stuff. I don't know how this works. I won't be reading it now, but I want to know more about Fediverse, so a book or documentary, something really detailed would help (just don't send me a website please :')

This is ironically is the biggest problem with the fediverse in my opinion, eveything is connected and interoperable in some way but also not fully. It's confusing and probably puts a lot of people off

100% this. I've worked in tech for over a decade now and feel like a damn boomer trying to figure out how to make lemmy and kbin work together.
