Hopefully, this fine will make companies think harder about their back-end architecture to account for data sovereignty rules. There's a ton of similar (or stronger) rules in the pipeline for India, Japan, China, etc. If you expect having customers use apps, or access your site from outside your own country, you better have a plan.
