Doesn't seem all that insightful to me. Looked to be a nothing burger.

I agree. The only substantial quote in the entire article seems to originate from an utterly bored intern analyst:

The think tank said the reason for the leak was unclear although it could be an attempt to "rehabilitate Wagner's image," following the rebellion on June 24 in which it seized military facilities in the southern city of Rostov-on-Don and marched on Moscow. The ISW said it makes Wagner "look professional and appealing in comparison with the regular Russian military."

That's it? It's literally just a corporate charter! What a misleading headline 😩

Newsweek is not a serious news outlet any longer. The get clicks based on their past reputation, not anything they currently contribute.

Yeah, also they're sourcing from ISW. Which is fine, if proper considerations are made.

But, they were not. Really low-hanging fruit of an article imo.

That is how it feels. Also, I like how they keep referring to Prigozhin as a "free man" while also saying that his whereabouts are unknown...

At this point I'll be surprised if he's still alive.

Now they're saying he has "cancer". I wonder how that will go for him...lol
