I like the little touch where the outer ring has 'lightning' arcing through it at times, and the inner one doesn't.
Creates the impression that the outer ring is responsible for generating the field, and the inner ring stabilises it and smoothes the instabilities so it's safe to traverse. Feels very grounded and plausible.
Beautiful, yes. Grounded -- well, if it was grounded there wouldn't be electrical arcing...
