It's crazy to me that there were people truly out there in the world talking firmly out of their ass saying that Russia's current and last gen fighters could go toe to toe with their counterparts in the US Air Force. All you have to do is look at pictures like this and you can see almost zero corrosion control and preventative maintenance is performed on their most important aircraft in the fleet.
Makes you question what the hell all their maintainers are doing each and every day while these things sit around and rust. I imagine the only time they get any tlc is when they get rolled out for photo ops or fly overs for VE day.
I think it's pretty well established by now that the Ruzzians are so mind bogglingly corrupt that someone has probably embezzled the maintenance budget and someone else has probably sold the majority of spares on the black market.
