They were bought by someone - i don't remember who, but i remember being disappointed when i read it. Glad they're providing more benefits for their people. Hope that's real.
Unfortunately their buyer is Sony. But considering I might never have seen a movie in a theater again, I'm pretty happy about it the reopening.
I really hope they continue to do the special discounted events like video vortex and agfa events. Those have been some of my favorite movie going experiences. They also sponsored Dallas VHS Swap which was a really cool outdoor swap meet where you got to meet a lot of interesting people.
I need to attend some of these. Drafthouse is the only theater I've been to in almost 10 years and I enjoy a lot of their events. Older movies, and movie parties.
Do you guys ever go to the Texas Theater for Tuesday Night Trash? I went to the last one and it was a lot of fun. It happens the first Tuesday of every month and they screen a different B movie each time. The movie is free, and they do have drinks and food available for purchase.
I haven't done that yet, but I would be interested.
