The PlayStation one is the assymetrical one (at least for platformers) when it comes to natural thumb positions.
That's great for the three people that only play platformers.

I play a lot of other games, but only platformers or things like Elden Ring that require controlers with a controller, otherwise I use a keyboard and mouse. Never said I never play other types of games.
Also, again, both of the layouts are identical on the right side wich is the only side that's important when you're talking about FPS vs platformer games. That half of the controller isn't even important for the discussion.
