Synology

This is a place for all topics regarding Synology hard- and software - especially (but not limited to) their NAS devices.

Just one thing: Let’s please be pleasant to each other and respect that people have different experience levels. Some are pros, some are noobs, yet everybody may have good ideas or interesting questions to ask and comments to make, and all of these shall be heard and appreciated. ❤️

And since we know from TV that all IT nerds 🤓 are h4xx0rs and wear hoodies all the time (if not even ski masks) in front of their computers, I chose an appropriate banner image (image credit).

MODERATORS

When Synology migrated from Moments to Photos, they dropped the image recognition. I’m specifically calling out the feature that detected cats, dogs, food, beach, whatever.

Anyone have a recommendation on what I might use (in Docker maybe) to fill the need?

I do not want to migrate away from Synology Photos, just supplement it.

I have no recommendations, but Synology going to add this feature to the photos "soon".

They've been saying this since they decommissioned Moments, lol

Thank you for this, wasn’t aware they finally decided to add this back in. I can wait since it’s now confirmed.

I opend a ticket for that matter. They had the same answer a year ago :-(

At this point I'm not sure if they are even going to implement the feature. I really do miss it!

edit: ohh, it looks like they really do add it. Thanks for the info @[email protected]
