Didn't want to just lurk on Lemmy, so thought I'd re-share one of my favourite projects to date: a folklore cat sweater!

I made this as a present for my friend, who's a big Taylor Swift fan and a doting cat parent. Quick background: Taylor Swift wore a gorgeous white cable knit cardigan in one of her music videos. That came to be known as the Folklore Cardigan, and you could buy it as merch or recreate it with this free Lion Brand pattern. I also saw some pet versions, and knew my friend would love one for her cat!

I based my stitch counts off of a pattern generator. (At the time, this was a free pattern. It's now 2 dollars, so still great value. But I think a free Drops pattern in the small size would also have worked fine.) Then I rounded up/down to get a stitch count that easily fit the cable patterns from the folklore cardigan. Taylor's cardigan has applique stars, so I crocheted a couple using this video (I'd never crocheted before, but the video was just easy enough to follow).

My friend and I were really happy with the result! (Her cat less so haha)

It'd be a stretch to call it a pattern, but if you'd like to make your own, I wrote down my measurements, stitch counts and instructions to myself in my Ravelry project notes. Happy to answer any other questions!

Literally everything about this is amazing. The random obscure reference, the dedication, the unimpressed kitty...10/10 no notes.
