I'd say this is what .22lr and 410 shotguns were invented for, but this is the UK so I guess they'll have to stab them.
Or, or, probably something like animal control exists in the UK.
People catch wild fowl in the Kalahari using traps out of sticks and stuff. It's not an insurmountable problem even in countries where gun legislation is not written by gun manufacturers.
