Poyo!

Who's Kirby?

Kirby is the unstoppable puffball with an infinite appetite.

Staring in a pretty awesome series of games produced by HAL and published by Nintendo, Kirby is known for swallowing his enemies whole and copying their abilities.

Don't let his small stature and cute demeanor fool you! Kirby spends much of his time protecting his friends, planet, and food from demonic horrors that would otherwise threaten the entire universe.

Took me a few months, but so happy it's finally finished! I think it turned out pretty nice.

That's so cute! I know very little of 3D printing - was it all one print, or multiple since it's different colors?

Also, is it something that will be laminated/put in resin?

Thank you. I did each colour as separate prints made of PLA, then super glued them together. There are some printers these days that can print multiple colours at once, but they are above of my budget.

I haven't looked in to laminating it, but i do have pieces of acrylic that are cut to the same size from a previous rendition I was working on. I will probably use that.

Thanks for the explanation 🩷 The colors are pretty spot on, did you buy them specifically for this print or have them around?

Looking to eventually get a 3D printer someday myself, but have lots to look into

The pink, black, and white I already had from previous projects, but I had to go buy the blue and coral for this.

If you are interested, 3d printing has come down in price significantly over the past few years. Last I checked, the newest Ender 3 models regularly go on sale for ~160 USD. A 1kg roll of PLA is ~20 USD and will last a good while.

My local library had me start with TinkerCAD (user-friendly, web-based CAD application) and Thingiverse (great place to share your projects). If you have any questions or want a second opinion, feel free to reach out :)
