I stumbled upon noice a couple of weeks ago. It is a beautiful app. It just plays noise, e.g. bird sounds. You can set a timer, e.g. 5 minutes and it'll stop after that. That's perfect for meditation or sleeping. I'm just a random user who likes the app.

A much better choice in my opinion is the newer Soothing Noise Player : https://f-droid.org/en/packages/ie.delilahsthings.soothingloop/

Here's Noice in F-Droid which I stopped using after I saw it asked to make Internet connections :

If I remember right, Noice started offering paid subscriptions to stream higher quality sound files from a central server. I just rolled back my install to the last version before that change (looks like 2.5.6) and disabled updating.

I'll have to check out soothing noise player!

Nice, thanks! The app is much easier to use than noice, yet not as beautiful. I'll check it out the next days.

Noice doesn't need internet. You can grant it to get more sounds but you don't have to.
