I was randomly browsing Google maps and found this location close to Al Khidayrah and Al Jirab. Any idea on what it may be? I have a post about it here, but no certified answers just yet

I am currently in the UAE and was looking for a solution to some things to do with setting my home and work on Apple Maps, but it seems that that part of the maps wasn't fully provided or something so I will not be able to set those.

Searching for a solution let me to this on the place that shouldn't be named, but Joseph (u/KickNo5073/) said we can use his map. So I just hopped on over here and subscribed to share it over here. I hope it is okay sharing pictures from there as I didn't see any rules about it in this instance.

Looks like a few new countries are coming in 2024. I was actually surprised because in the UAE we still have a few features not working yet.

Botim is one of the preferred allowed alternatives of UAE for video calling and messaging.

I just recently saw that the messages and calls are end to end encrypted which I thought was one of the main reasons that Whatsapp calling isn’t working here?

Also, I would want to get get rid of the adds but I don’t want to indefinitely subscribe to do this. I wish there could have been a once of purchase for this.

For most part the app works quite well, but trying to get the people from my home country to download it has been challenging for me.

I would normally look for i formation on these type of things on reddit, but I figured it would be good if this community could also have some information on it.

Hi everyone!

I've decided to create a UAE community here on Lemmy. As you know it's very bare bones and a new way of doing things, so if we gather enough users and support over the next few years, we will be more than happy to build it into a proper reddit alternative!

If this Lemmy alternative speaks to you, just drop a comment as it's primary gauge if we should continue pursuing this venture!

Peace,

P.Uncertainty
