Plot elements or characters that the writers didn’t know what to do with?

’ve said before, on many occasions, that the Darkin are a plotline Riot clearly didn’t initially know what they were doing with. They were just stand-ins for demons before demons really became a thing in Runeterra, with old Aatrox being the only lead we had as to what their deal was... And then they were aliens. Now they’re fallen demigods. Also there used to only be five, but now there are over a dozen of them.

I've been in a massive Tintin mood recently and have been revisiting the series and the movies.

God I love Capitan Haddock. Tintin stories are ellevated with him around. His design is so simple yet so iconic. He's character is absolute perfection. A rowdy but experienced seaman who's a walking paradox.

He looks and acts like an idiot but he's actually very experienced and competant cause he keeps up with Tintin. He's loud and rude and talks big but he's loyal and kind. He looks like a hobo but is a millionaire.

And god the way he speaks is the fucking best. His catchpharses are so good and it never gets old.

Tintin is a godly, timeless creation. Also the english localizations is weird. The characters didn't have names that weird that would need english equivalents. Milo, Professor Tournesol and the Dupont & Dupond are way better than the english names.

My first exposure to Mario was Double Dash, and I initially thought Bowser (and Jr.) were actually neutral or something, while Wario and Waluigi were the bad guys. I think I only thought that bc kid me just really fucking loved evil counterparts lol (and I still do).

And of course when I inevitably discovered Bowser was the actual villain, my stupid ass was SHOCKED. Somehow. Because apparently, a big buff beast with horns and a spiked shell =/= obvious villain lol

Sotha Sil from Elder Scrolls Online is the coolest. He's a science man who is so enlightened and big brained that he can predict everything around him, even his own death centuries in advance. But this science has also imprisoned him, since he's so good at calculating everything he's almost become a Dr. Manhattan-like figure. He's become too smart for his own good. Only the Prisoner, one who defies fate, can reject everything he has foreseen.

And yet if you look at the memorials in his garden and his memories in the Mnemonic Planisphere, you can see that despite his cold exterior, he is constantly burdened by the death of his sister and his betrayal of big-dick hero man Saint Nerevar. Despite being the most distant and aloof of the Tribunal, he is the one most trapped by his regret, and it becomes clear that his whole life philosophy is him trying to justify to himself that all he has done had to happen.

He has to believe that the world can be figured out, that he is constrained by the limitations of the formula that defines him, because if he wasn't, if he could take the step that the Prisoner can take and believe that he could choose otherwise, it would mean that his clan's death wasn't a mathetical certainty, and that he also willingly killed Nerevar of his own volition, and that would suck.

Man, I love terrible coping mechanisms. Give me more.

I randomly remembered the time Yuki Naka confirmed that Michael Jackson did indeed make music for Sonic 3

Were there any other examples of creators or associates confirming rumors from off-hand remarks?
