A 12-year-old boy has tragically died a day after arriving at a therapy camp, sparking a police investigation into his "suspicious" death.

The Transylvania County Sheriff's office said the boy was taken to Trails Carolina camp in Lake Toxaway in North Carolina on February 2 with his parent's consent.

Freeway Killer William Bonin was sentenced to death for the murder of 14 teen boys and young men whose naked, sodomized bodies were dumped along California's roads and highways.

The Freeway Killer's identity remained unknown for more than a year as more than 21 young men and boys were sexually assaulted, tortured and murdered between May 1979 and June 1980. Their killer got his name as he cruised the Southern California streets, hunting for victims before he then left their bodies dumped along the sides of major roads and highways.

35-year-old Fernando Taylor now sits in a Houston jail awaiting extradition. He’s charged with the murder of 56-year-old Vietnamese restaurant owner Tho Tieu.

Police say on the morning of Dec. 29, Taylor followed Tieu and then ambushed her as she got out of her vehicle at her New York Avene business in Arlington, Pho Son Nam Vietnamese Restaurant.

For nearly 50 years, no one knew what happened to Teree Becker.

She was last seen Dec. 4, 1975, hitchhiking to see her boyfriend in Brighton, Colorado. Two days later, her body was found dumped in a field outside Denver.

Two passing motorcyclists discovered Becker in the area of 100th Avenue and Lowell Boulevard in Westminster, about 10 miles north of Denver, along with her clothes and personal items.
